A Collaborative Learning Cohort

One Herd invites you to join us for a weekend filled with experiential learning and personal development as part of our continued education program, Stable Studies. This immersive experience offers a unique opportunity to deepen your horsemanship skills, explore the art of facilitation, and strengthen your connections with fellow equine-assisted learning professionals and coaches.

As a continued education program, this event is designed to expand your knowledge and enhance your professional practice in the field of equine-assisted learning in a collaborative learning environment.

Together, we will learn, share, and grow in a supportive environment that fosters community, collaboration, and growth. Whether you're looking to refine your techniques or build stronger relationships within the herd, Stable Studies promises to be a transformative journey.

Come grow with us as we unite as One Herd.

  • At One Herd we believe that many traditional models of learning reinforce a hierarchical dynamic in which teachers are perceived as separate from and more valuable than learners. We believe in creating a space that intentionally establishes all participants as equal partners in the learning process. This style of learning is aligned with our commitment to practice collective leadership in all aspects of our business. In this model, we are all teachers and learners. To that aim, we are all accountable for sharing our thoughts, perceptions, and experiences for the betterment of the group. In Stable Studies, we demonstrate expertise without didactic instruction, offer time and space for participants to experience and apply what they have absorbed from demonstrations, and facilitate conversations to help all participants digest and expand upon what they have discovered through this process.

  • Anyone who is interested or actively involved in the fields of coaching, nature based learning, animal facilitated learning, holistic wellness and self-development, and/or social applications of biomimicry.

  • Exact content is generated from participants of each cohort. However, all content is aligned with our core values and intended to improve the understanding or application of quality, ethical work within our fields.

    Previous content has included:

    • Nature-based Mindfulness

    • Identity-based Inclusivity

    • Facilitating Connection through Conversation

    • Gentling Horses as a training model

    • Liberty work as an assessment tool for horses

The theme of the fall 2025 Stable Studies will be: Communication

  • At One Herd, we prioritize accessibility for everyone. Recognizing that travel can be both a privilege and a financial burden, we make a concerted effort to provide accommodation options within our Stable Studies Cohorts to ensure greater inclusivity.

  • At One Herd, we are deeply committed to making this program as accessible as possible. To help sustain this offering, we ask participants to contribute what they can. Your support, whether through a one-time or sustaining donation, enables us to continue providing these valuable opportunities and extend them to communities that will benefit most. Any additional contributions are greatly appreciated and help further our mission of accessibility for all.

Pricing options for Stable Studies may vary depending on the location - the attendance fee for our 2025 Colorado Cohort at Gray Mountain Ranch is $50.
