COHORT THEME: COLLABORATION

Collaboration is the central theme for our 2026 Stable Studies Cohort, as it lies at the core of effective teamwork, leadership, and community building. In its truest form, collaboration is not simply about working together—it's about harnessing collective strengths, fostering mutual respect, and creating shared goals. In the context of equine-assisted learning, collaboration goes beyond coordinated effort; it includes trust, empathy, and the ability to engage in joint conflict-management, all of which are essential for the growth of individuals and teams.

In Stable Studies, we explore collaboration as a multidimensional theme that directly influences leadership, personal growth, and team dynamics. By working closely with horses, participants deepen their understanding of shared responsibility and the dynamics of working in harmony with others. Horses, as highly intuitive beings, offer unique insights into group synergy, cooperation, and interdependence, providing real-time feedback on how well individuals and teams are aligning with one another. This feedback allows participants to experience firsthand the impact of collaborative effort and learn how to build more cohesive, effective teams in both professional and personal settings.

Through this exploration of collaboration, participants will gain practical tools to foster collaboration in diverse environments, creating stronger teams and more vibrant communities.

  • We understand that traveling can be both a privilege and an expense, which is why we are excited to offer our Herd members the opportunity to stay at a beachfront condominium at Wrightsville Beach on a first-come, first-served basis. Just 30 minutes from Double Run Farm, this beautiful property can accommodate up to eight adults with its spacious layout, which includes a king bed, two queen beds, and four twin beds.

Our goal is to make it easier for more of our members to join us for the 2026 Stable Studies Cohort, offering a comfortable and welcoming space where participants can gather, relax, and fully enjoy the experience. We hope this accommodation helps foster a sense of community and connection as we embark on this transformative journey together.

  • Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses and are encouraged to support one another through carpooling whenever possible, as we prioritize being responsible stewards of nature. We believe that collaborating to reduce our environmental footprint aligns with our broader mission of sustainability.

For those flying in, we recommend Wilmington International Airport (ILM), which is closest to Wrightsville Beach, or Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), both of which offer convenient access to the area.

  • We are incredibly grateful to Double Run Farm for their generous support of One Herd through the donation of their beautiful facility for our 2026 Stable Studies Cohort.

As always, Stable Studies is offered free of charge, with the goal of advancing the equine-assisted learning and coaching industry while fostering a stronger community. While participation remains free, recurring donations are vital to ensuring the sustainability of this program. We encourage participants to consider contributing to our mission, helping to keep these valuable opportunities accessible to all who can benefit from them.

Your support plays a crucial role in the continued growth and reach of this important work.
