Everywhere!
The natural environment is our greatest classroom, so that’s where we choose to teach. Interacting with nature and animals gives us the space and the opportunities we need to learn at a deeper level. Practicing skills in real time, in real situations, helps us achieve more sustainable insight and establish longer lasting neural connections. With accessibility as one of our core values, we prioritize creating supportive and sustainable relationships with facilities across the country to ensure that the communities and organizations we serve are not burdened by travel. We are grateful to have facility partners from coast to coast that support us in our work to make leadership and personal development accessible to all regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, ability, background or socio-economic status.

Sensitivity: As prey animals, a horse’s survival depends on their ability to detect even the slightest inconsistencies in their environment. This means that they can recognize and react not only to our overt behaviors, but also to the emotions we might try to hide or ignore.
Herd Dynamics: As incredibly social creatures, horses are experts at establishing and maintaining relationship. By observing their behavior and comparing it to our own, we can gain insight into how we establish connection, understand roles, and communicate effectively.
Challenging: Though they can be incredibly playful and compassionate, horses are ultimately powerful animals with their own individual quirks and personalities. They will require that you step outside of your comfort zone, practice patience with persistence, and find your inner herd leader.
Fun: Sometimes sitting in a classroom can get a little boring! Working with horses allows you to get outside and back into your body. They can teach and challenge you, but also play with you, bond with you, and remind you to let loose and laugh a little!

Everyone!
After more than a decade of working with corporate leadership teams and observing the disparity in development opportunities, One Herd was created to address this imbalance. A vessel of accessibility and inclusion, we are committed to bringing this work to any group or individual interested in pursuing their development.
