At One Herd, we believe the truest lessons in horsemanship come from the horses themselves. That’s why we’re opening our pastures to invite you into a unique and invaluable opportunity to learn directly from horses, guided by two highly experienced equine professionals, Morgan Ridenhour and Morgan Riyami.

With a lifetime immersed in horse culture and well over a decade of experience in equine-assisted learning, Ridenhour and Riyami have dedicated their careers to working with horses, developing a deep understanding of equine behavior and psychology. The pair has honed the rare ability to authentically connect with horses of all temperaments, experience, and backgrounds. Often putting this valuable skill to the test in executive coaching sessions, where they have been required to meet horses just 24 hours before working alongside them with corporate clients, a testament to Ridenhour and Riyami’s expertise in quickly building trust and creating safe and successful coaching experiences.

Ridenhour and Riyami are not just professionals; they are passionate advocates for fostering deep, trusting relationships between horses and humans grounded in mutual respect. Over the years, they've developed clear, effective methods to help humans truly listen to their horse partners. Pasture Programs is designed to give participants the opportunity to learn how to recognize and interpret the subtle cues within horse culture from a diverse herd of horses and equip participants with the skills to respond in ways that build relationships grounded in mutual trust, respect, and understanding.

Pasture Programs offers the opportunity to experience firsthand how transformative horsemanship skills can become when they are focused on truly listening to the horse and being open to understanding what they have to teach us. One Herd is fortunate to have the opportunity to explore, play, and learn on Double Run Farm, an 80+ acre horse property nestled on historic family land in Leland, NC. This beautiful, expansive setting provides the perfect backdrop for our programs, offering a peaceful and inspiring environment where both people and horses can connect, grow, and thrive. With its deep history and natural beauty, Double Run Farm is more than just a venue – it is a space that invites exploration, fosters learning, and encourages deep connections with the land and the herd that calls it home.

  • For those flying in, Wilmington International Airport (ILM) is the most conveniently located airport to Double Run Farm, just a short drive away. If you're coming from outside the area, Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) is about two hours from the farm and offers a wider range of flight connections.

    As always, we encourage participants to carpool and support one another in travel whenever possible, helping us prioritize sustainability and the care of our planet.
